Marv Albert narrates this documentary film on the 1975 NHL All Star Game, held at
the Forum in Montreal.Claude Mouton announces the starting
line-ups.Campbell Conference players include: Bernie Parent, Bobby Clarke, Brad
Park, Rod Gilbert and rookie Denis Potvin.Prince of Wales players include: Ken
Dryden, Daryl Sittler, Marcel Dionne, Rick Martin, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and Guy Lafleur. Goal scorers include Syl Apps
(2), Don Luce, Sittler, Potvin, Espo, Terry O’Reilly and of course … Bobby Orr. Dryden plays the second half of
the game and is outstanding. Everyone tries to get the puck to Apps for the hat-trick.His dad, Syl Apps Sr, was in the crowd watching … he scored a goal in the very first All Star game. Apps jr doesn’t
get the hat-trick, but is the game’s mvp and wins a new Dodge Charger.
National Hockey League Action (#1), 1974, 23:00, color, sound
I remember watching this show on Saturday mornings, as a kid,
after ?Spiderman?.The show is called ?National Hockey League Action?, which
was a weekly show, divided in to 3 parts, highlighting 2 games of the previous week, with a small 3 or 4 minute hockey feature,
sandwiched in between.I have heard that almost all of the original 16mm film
copies of this show were destroyed and that they are extremely rare.To my knowledge
the show only ran for the 72/73 and 73/74 season.
Narration
by Tim Ryan, with the first part of the film featuring highlights of a game, which took place that week at the Metropolitan
Sports Center in Minnesota, between the North Stars and the Boston Bruins.Bruins
include Orr, Esposito, Casman, Hodge, Vadnais, Stanfield etc with Gilles Gilbert in Goal. The Stars have Gibbs, Parise, Oliver, Druin, Bergman, Nanne and Maniago in goal.Orr scores a goal after one of his patented end to end rushes.Esposito
scores a hatrick, the 3rd goal of which ties the game at 5 and is Espos 50th of the season. This is followed by a 4 minute feature on refereeing, narrated by a very young referee Dave Newell.Lots of live action banter between the refs and players (cool) and plenty of scraps,
with lots of California Golden Seals action
for some reason. The 3rd part of the film is a highlights feature,
like the first part, but is between the Chicago Black Hawks and the Philadelphia Flyers.Talk about tensions between 2 rough
teams ? Tallon, Magnuson, Rota, Dennis Hull, Mikita, Russell, white and Tony Esposito in goal, against the ? Broad Street Bullies?,
Schultz, Moose Dupont, Flett, Barber, Macleish, Watson, Clarke and Bernie Parent in goal. The goaltending in this game is spectacular, even after Parent takes a blast in the face.Rare game footage of that era.

Buffalo Sabres – “A History in the Making” – 2 hours
A call it: Buffalo Sabres - A History In The Making
The Buffalo Sabres - A History In The Making Opening with
the segment: Buffalo Sabres - A Decade Of Excitement This segment runs 1 hour and
5 minutes. It opens with the Knox brothers and the Sabres first NHL draft. It includes footage of their first ever exhibition
game against the New York Rangers and their first ever goal in franchise history scored by Billy Amos. from
there it's on to the refurbishing of the Aud in Buffalo and the team first official
game against the Pittsburgh penguins on October 10th, 1970. Included also is footage of their home opener against
the Montreal Canadiens and then it's on to hi-lites against Toronto including a live call by Ted Darling of Gilbert Perreault's
record breaking 35th goal as a rookie. There are more hi-lites, narrated and live call against Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta,
Islanders, Chicago where if you look closely you'll see Bobby Orr playing for the Hawks. To my knowledge this is the only
footage in existence of Orr actually playing in a game with the Hawks. There is more hi-lites and the death of Tim Horton
and their first game after the tragedy against the Atlanta Flames. The hi-lites continue with both Dryden's
facing off against each other, hi-lites from the playoffs, some fights and much more. This is excellent quality as it was
transferred directly from film.
Segment two is the Buffalo Sabres year in review
hi-lites from 1972-73 - again I've not seen these hi-lites before and they are excellent quality as they were transferred
directly from film. Narrated by Ted Darling this segment runs 26 minutes and features narrated, natural sound and live call
hi-lites. Some that are included are Rick Martin's 50th, 51st and 52nd goals of the season. Hi-lites of the first ever NBC
televised Sabres game vs. the Montreal Canadiens.
Segment three is a 1975 Stanley Cup Hi-lite film called
A Silver Fantasy - This segment documents the entire finals series with different angles then I've seen before as well as
footage I have not seen until now. This segment runs 23 minutes and is excellent quality as it was transferred directly from
film.
Running approximately two hours this is a must for Sabres fans! Excellent quality throughout all segments.
